This program provides support to individuals to live independently in the community
It focuses on skill development in areas such as banking, cooking, grocery shopping etc.Support can begin while the person is still living with their family or they could be living independently already.
SIL support varies from 1 hour per week to “enhanced” SIL homes which have daily staffing, including overnight support.
People supported in SIL live in apartments, townhouses, or homes throughout Oakville leased in their names.
