Required Technical Competencies:
- Completed post secondary diploma and/or degree in a related discipline i.e. Developmental Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology.
- Current Safe Management, First Aid, Pharmacology Training.
- Training in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dual Diagnosis and Personal Outcomes an asset.
- Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurability.
- Vulnerable Persons Criminal Reference check required.
Required Core Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for others, communicate with a team and stakeholders, identify and solve problems in a creative manner and proactively plan ahead.
- Demonstrated concern for the welfare, dignity and feelings of others.
- Flexibility and the ability to deal with challenging situations required.
Positions Currently Available
- Casual Staff
Must be available for a minimum of 10 shifts per month
- Weekend Support
Must be available alternative weekends 4:00 p.m. to Midnight / every weekend 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
Community Living Oakville is partnered with Humber College to provide training opportunities under the Developmental Service Worker Apprenticeship Program.
